On the search for…wreckable rugs

Yes you did read the title of this post correctly! We are looking for wreckable rugs because we are currently designing a teenage girls bedroom who apparently has a unique talent for wrecking almost anything that is put in her room…so today we are looking for rugs that are cheap enough that her parents may not want to disown her when she spills a drink and pretty enough that she will want to keep it looking gorgeous!

First up the splat rug from Plantation Rugs, the name really does say it all ~ you never know we might get lucky and the stains just add to the pattern and if not at only £150 it’s a great steal!

Maybe something a little more girly might appeal, I really like this round dotty rug [from £75 from Plantation Rugs]

Plantation-Rugs-Dotty-Pink (1)

Last but by no means least is this gorgeous nomadic rug, it might be a bit too busy for the rest of the house’s design but in a girls bedroom where the floor will most likely be “decorated” with clothes I think it could fit right in! [from £100 from Plantation Rugs]

I think that the round one ~yes Charlie for once I actually like the round rug! ~ might be the best one for the design and the colours are perfect – here’s hoping it will survive!

On the search for… amazing bar stools

Bar stools for a modern home can really add a wow point in an interior design, especially if they are in an open plan setting.  Recently we have been looking for some gorgeous modern bar stools for a project we are working on outside London.

From left to right: Tonic Home Rings Barstool, Calligaris Even Leather and Rofl Benz #625.  I love the ones on the right as I think they just instantly scream WOW!  The ones of the left are gorgeous classic Italian designs.

On the search for… great looking radiators

Most of the projects we take on tend to be full scale refurbishments, with this in mind we are often looking at a completely blank slate at the beginning of the project.  For me one of the most important parts to get right are the fixtures (get them wrong and they are a pain to fix later in the project).  Radiators are a fixture that can add a huge amount to the design of a project but are often very overlooked.  Here are a few of my favourite radiator picks.

I adore this radiator as it is a feature piece in its own right – now obviously you wouldn’t use it in every room

Arteplano from £1764 (Yes that gorgeous piece to the left of the console is actually a radiator!!)

Classic radiator from £343

Thermo glass radiator from £1407

A very eclectic selection of radiators!

On the search for…stunning modern chandeliers

As you may, or may not, know I have a bit of an obsession with lighting.  For me it is one of the most important parts of interior design as its presence can not only highlight some of the most beautiful parts of a design but can also add depth and texture.  Today we are in the search for some truly stunning central chandeliers for a very modern lounge interior.  As it is part of the main reception area it needs to be something commanding.  Here are a few of my favourite options!

Droog 85 Chandelier – okay so it may kill you in bulb costs but it i most definitely worth it! £2,295

2097/50 pendant light Designed by Gino Sarfatti £1,720

Matt Gagnon – Ceramic Lamp from $4,140

Tigermoth Silver Chain Long Chandelier from £2,687.02

Zeppelin 1 suspension light Designed by Marcel Wanders £2,575

On the search for…modern occasional chairs

Occasional chairs are a fantastic way to add not only colour but texture in to a room – this is extremely important with a modern design scheme.  This week we have been searching high and low for some chairs that will fit in to a modern home we are currently designing.

This Italian chair has a beautiful line, I love the chrome base –  this would look fantastic in a bright fabric.

I love the simple design of this rocking chair.  It would look at home in a modern baby’s room as it would in an open plan lounge.

Any more suggestions for a modern occasional chair with a difference?

On the search for… Cupboard handles

A few months ago we showed you some exclusive pictures of a luxury interior design we were doing for one of our clients in North London. We have now moved on to the final finishing touches and are looking for some amazing cupboard handles to help finish off the scheme, just to remind you below is the mood board!

So here are our options since the ones shown above have unfortunately been discontinued.

1.Light Blue 2.Dark Blue  3. Chrome

So do we go a little  more conservative, or do we add more colour in to this amazing room?

On the search for… Over mantle mirrors

We are currently working on a project that has the most amazing colour scheme, it is bright and bold and was actually inspired by the clients favourite eye-shadows!

We are now looking for the perfect mirror to sit above a very traditional Victorian fireplace, here are a few of our options.

For me I think the bottom one is perfect, is almost exactly matches one of the fabrics that we are using on the storage ottoman!

On the search for…a hallway bench

Today the search continues for amazingly gorgeous luxury interior design products.  Today we are looking for a bench for a beautiful hallway for a project (remember our traditional and modern look post – well its for that project) that is very almost finished in Putney.  This bench needs to be something special as it will be the fist touch down point for all guests and two very energetic young boys so it needs to be stylish yet robust.  Here are a few of the options we came up with, personally I don’t think we can trump the first one!

I love this raw hide bench as it is both beautiful, unique and will be able to handle a little rough and tumble – hides are great for that!

This options is also gorgeous but I don’t think it will hold up as well in the wear and tear department.

Another option was to pop a little more storage in but I just don’t think it will wear very well (I can see it’s first encounter with a pair of muddy boots and it is not good!) plus I think design wise it is a little too boxy for space.

Which one would you pick?

On the search for…Black Chandeliers

I absolutely love using black in our designs, it can be such an interesting colour – sometimes it can grab your attention, other times it can blend in to the background.  For one of the projects we are working on we are looking for black chandeliers with impact, the property is very large with a very high ceiling, the design scheme is very luxurious and extremely modern. Here are are few of our favourites.

On the search for…Spectacular standard lamps

Welcome to what will be a our Friday post each and every Friday,we were going to name is Find it Friday but have stuck with “on the search for…”.  This week we have been on the search for some gorgeous standard lamps for a very modern lounge area that has a double height (5m!) ceiling.  Anything we picked needed to be big and bold, it needed to be able to hold it’s own within such a gorgeous but very large space.  Here are some of our favourite picks.

I love the funky modern design of this “standard” lamp – seems a bit of a shame to call it standard though! This next one is a particular favourite of mine and has actually been featured on our blog before!
