As a home worker, you may sometimes meet clients at your home (cringe!-have I done the washing up?!) Kia Richardson's recipe is sure to have your clients thinking about how multi-talented you are and how wonderful it smells with a homely and cooking aroma. Appeal to the senses and delight clients with some tasty shortbread!
Cooking up a treat
This shortbread recipe is very easy to do and will definitely impress.
Ingredients
125g/4oz butter
55g/2oz caster sugar
180g/6oz plain flour
Method
1. Heat the oven to 190C/375F/Gas 5.
2. Beat the butter and the sugar together until pale.
3. Stir in the flour to get a smooth paste. Turn on to a work surface and gently roll out until the paste is 1cm/½in thick.
4. Cut into rounds or fingers and sprinkle with a little extra caster sugar. Put on a baking sheet and chill for 20 minutes. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until pale golden-do not overcook! Cool on a wire rack.
For the best effect serve this with a traditional (yes tea leaves!) pot of tea.
It’s fun and will at least get you remembered.
