Clever student!

One pet hate I have about University in general is the lack of practical skills that the students often come out with.  I studied Philosophy and Psychology so nobody expected me to pick up any practical skills but in other arenas of study there really is no excuse.

That is why I am so impressed whenever I see exceptional work created by students (and when I say exceptional I mean useful, not just perceived to be ‘clever’ by a lecturer).  If the coffee table below was available I would use it – it is sleek, modern and VERY practical (the space for books is an excellent idea).  This is an example of a student who is not only being taught how to be a Designer but who actually IS a Designer before they have left University.

    Now that is clever!

I am like you, I love to see inovation like this.

I am a huge believer it the fact that an item should be both practical and beautiful. Looks alone just don't cut it for me.
