The brief from our Bishops Park clients was to create a clean, cozy and vibrant living space on the ground floor of their 3 story townhouse in leafy SW6. Having worked with the clients before we had an instant feeling for the kinds of colours and textures that they were fond of however unlike their previous project this home was more traditional in its layout. Going from a large open plan space to a through lounge – dining room – kitchen was going to be a large adjustment not just in design but in the way they used the space. We wanted to make that transition as stress free as possible.
The neutral colour palette with touches of warm blues create this elegant and contemporary space, similar in many ways to their previous home we had designed. Strong statement pieces set against neutral tones give the design depth and build the volume, while bold, accented, coloured pillows and accessories create a radiant and homey atmosphere. Choosing an engineered oak wood for flooring added warmth and the large width of the planks opened up the space further. Final touches in silver and grey introduce a sense of elegance to the space. All of this, tied together with iconic furniture, helped us to create a beautiful and modern home for these young, outgoing and energetic clients.
