I have attracted many items to your attention that have successfully melded contemporary and classic Design. The reason why I highlight such pieces is because they are not easy to make work and so it is worth applauding them when they do! This piece is an example of when post-modern Design goes wrong: the contrast here is just too sharp and there is no common thread running through both parts.
The bottom line: you can’t simply put an ‘old’ and a ‘new’ piece of furniture together and expect magic!
