Baker Street interior design: taking over a mansion flat mid-project

Baker Street interior design from first sketch to handover: how we stepped into a two-bedroom mansion flat refurbishment part-way through, and what we'd do for yours.

The brief

We were brought in part-way through. The refurbishment was already under way with another designer, and the deadline was tight.

Our job was to assess the flat, refine the design so it worked, then choose and install the furniture, without holding up the build.

What we changed

Taking over

We assessed the flat and the work done so far, kept what worked and refined the rest.

Storage

A coffee table with a lift-up top hides everyday clutter in the living room.

Fabrics

Embroidered botanical blinds and armchairs in printed fabrics bring in colour and pattern.

Furniture

We chose and installed every piece, mixing vintage wood with upholstery so the flat feels collected rather than bought in one go.

Baker Street interior design: what to plan for

Most of our work around Baker Street is in mansion blocks, many of them in Westminster conservation areas. Blocks have their own rules on approvals, working hours, lifts and deliveries, and that matters even more on a tight deadline. We plan for all of this from the first meeting, so it doesn't hold up the job. If your project has stalled or your designer has left, we can step in, review where things stand and get it moving again.

We've been designing London homes for 18 years. In that time, our bathrooms and kitchens have won national awards. The first conversation is free, and we can usually meet within a few days.
