The brief

Colour, a contemporary feel, and a long-term family home that works for everyone in it, together and apart. The clients had worked with us on their London home, and asked us to do the same in Geneva.

A Swiss architect designed the house itself. We shaped everything inside it: the flow, the light and the materials, working alongside the architect and local contractors from the early plans to the final styling.

What we changed

Kitchen and dining

The developer's layout nearly cost the clients part of their kitchen and dining plan. We reworked it with the builders so they kept the design they wanted.

Staircase

We swapped the standard metal frame on the glass balustrade for timber matched to the parquet floor, at no extra cost.

Colour

Shades of blue run through the ground floor, from the kitchen cabinets to the pastel blue stair brackets and the sheer curtains.

Sourcing

Statement pendants, curved joinery and art, including pieces found in Geneva's own design showrooms.

Geneva interior design: what to plan for

Most of our Geneva work is in new homes, alongside a local architect. Building work runs to Swiss rules and mostly in French, so we review the electrical and kitchen plans before they're fixed, work with local contractors, and keep everyone in one shared project space. We plan for this from the first meeting, so nothing gets redrawn late.

We've been designing homes in London and abroad for 18 years. In that time, our bathrooms and kitchens have won national awards. The first conversation is free, and we can usually meet within a few days.
