In many luxury developments, such as those found in the heart of Fitzrovia, the bedrooms are surprisingly small. This limitation necessitates thoughtful planning and bespoke design solutions to optimise the available space. For instance, in our latest project, we encountered a bedroom so compact that accommodating traditional furnishings became a significant challenge. Standard beds simply wouldn’t fit; we opted for bespoke beds tailored specifically to the room’s dimensions, ensuring that both functionality and aesthetics were preserved.

However, one of the more unconventional solutions involved ‘faking’ a headboard in one of the smaller bedrooms. Due to space constraints, we couldn’t spare an additional 8cm for a padded headboard, leading us to creatively modify our approach. By choosing wall-mounted artwork that mimicked the appearance of a headboard, we maintained the elegance of the room without compromising on space.

The Master Bedroom: A Luxury Retreat

Fortunately, the master bedroom presented a different set of challenges. This spacious sanctuary featured its own dressing area, an ensuite bathroom, and a private balcony, making it a true highlight of the property. However, creating a statement piece, like an oversized headboard, required careful consideration. The challenge lay in ensuring the headboard could fit through the staircase and into the room without sacrificing its design integrity.

The headboard was designed in sections, enabling it to be assembled on-site without compromising on style or impact. The living-dining space we designed is bathed in natural light, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. To complement this brightness, we needed window treatments that were nothing short of exceptional. After careful consideration, we selected a beautiful Boeme fabric for the window dressings. This choice enhances the room’s aesthetic and also ties together the various colours and textures present in the lounge area.

In our project, the Boeme fabric brought together the colours needed in the lounge, creating a cohesive look that feels both elegant and inviting. We love a good colour palette, and the lounge colours for this project were a joy to work with. The colour palette in this Fitzrovia new build was a combination of purples, gold and lilacs against dark Macassar ebony woods. We did have a bit of trouble getting the coffee table to match the rest, but once we had gotten it to the shade that we wanted the whole room came together. We knew it was going to be everything that the client could dream of, and he was completely blown away by it. Seeing how happy it made him when he first walked in made getting the sofa in with a cherry picker completely worth it!
