The brief

Open, sociable and full of character. The clients wanted an apartment that felt grown-up and calm, with confident colour rather than plain white walls.

Music matters to them, so a piano needed a proper home, and there had to be clever storage so the open-plan space stays clear.

What we changed

Kitchen

Deep blue cabinetry with bar stools, so the kitchen is somewhere to sit and talk, not just cook.

Living

Navy and blue feature walls frame the living space and make the big windows feel even brighter.

Music room

A dedicated room for the piano, with seating for listening and playing.

Storage

Organised wardrobes and a coat and shelving wall by the door keep everyday clutter out of sight.

Shoreditch interior design: what to plan for

Most of our Shoreditch work is in warehouse conversions and newer apartment blocks, with open-plan layouts and big windows. Open plan needs careful zoning with colour, lighting and furniture, and building managers usually set rules on works and deliveries. We plan for all of this from the first meeting, so it doesn't hold up the job.
