Chelsea homes range from Georgian terraces and red-brick mansion blocks to riverside apartments, and each needs a different approach. Period houses need their detail protected. Apartments usually need the layout pushed harder, because every square foot counts.
Kia Designs is an award-winning residential interior design studio at London Bridge, with more than 200 completed projects across London.
Much of Chelsea sits in conservation areas, and Kensington and Chelsea has strict rules on basements and external changes. Mansion blocks add their own freeholder approvals. We factor these in from the first survey, so the design you approve is one that can actually be built.
We also design homes in Kensington, Knightsbridge, Notting Hill and Holland Park. See our services and pricing, or tell us about your Chelsea home and we’ll tell you how we’d approach it.
On our Knightsbridge Luxury Living project, just over the border from Chelsea, we turned a two-bedroom, two-bathroom flat into three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, without extending. We did it by removing dead corridors and awkward corners, then designing joinery to make every remaining space useful. That kind of replanning is often worth more than any finish.
