The brief

Calm and clutter-free. The clients were practical from the start: they wanted lots of storage, but without losing the light, airy feel of the apartment.

The principal suite was dated and didn't make the most of the space, so it became the focus of the project.

What we changed

Bathroom

White fittings, a round mirror and a walk-in shower against soft limewashed walls. It was a finalist for Bathroom Designer of the Year at the KBB Awards 2024.

Storage

Joinery planned around how the clients live, so everything has a place and surfaces stay clear.

Bedroom

Textured limewash walls, simple bedding and big windows keep the room restful.

Living

Open-plan living with the clients' art and wine collection on show, and views across the city.

Bermondsey interior design: what to plan for

Most of our Bermondsey work is in warehouse conversions and period apartment buildings, many in conservation areas. Freeholders usually need to approve bathroom and kitchen changes, and building managers set rules on working hours and deliveries. Our studio is round the corner at London Bridge, so we can be on site quickly. We plan for all of this from the first meeting, so it doesn't hold up the job.

We've been designing London homes for 18 years. In that time, our bathrooms and kitchens have won national awards. The first conversation is free, and we can usually meet within a few days.
