The brief

A home that helps you switch off. The client wanted calm, uncluttered rooms with space to meditate, work and rest, and storage that keeps everything out of sight.

Small changes made a big difference: moving doors, rethinking storage and building in furniture so every corner works.

Bedroom

A bed set into a raised platform that can become a larger meditation space, with storage underneath.

A pull-out desk built into the joinery turns the room into an office when it's needed.

Storage

Pocket doors and repositioned doorways free up walls for wardrobes and built-in window seats.

Bathrooms

Hexagonal and marble-effect tiles, with the en-suite skylight made into a feature.

Tufnell Park interior design: what to plan for

Most of our Tufnell Park work is in Victorian houses and conversions, often with awkward room shapes, sloping ceilings and limited storage. Built-in joinery usually gives the biggest gains, so we survey carefully and draw everything to the millimetre. We plan for all of this from the first meeting, so it doesn't hold up the job.
